Useful video showing the basics of how movement is controlled on an RC Helicopter. This is a flybar controlled heli, there are also other ones that use electronic stabilisation that are called flybarless.

The 10 Commandments for EdgeTX
Below is a useful Youtube video for new users of EdgeTX, all good advice on how to configure your Tx to get the best out of it. All done on a RadioMaster TX16 (which a lot of EdgeTX users have), but will equally work on any EdgeTX radio, the screen might just look a little different.
One of the commandments is how to update your firmware – very useful but do remember if everything is working, there isn’t really any need to update it; don’t be the person who updates it every few months just because a new version is out.
The manual for EdgeTX is also very useful and can be found here for colour radios and here for monochrome ones. -
Slope Soaring Locations
If any members are interested in getting into slope soaring, there is a Google map showing Scottish locations at https://kevin-newton.blogspot.com/p/scottish-slopes.html . As you would probably expect, a number of them are on Lomond Hill, both the West and East one. The West one is effectively Bishops Hill. so expect more of a climb. The East one is close to Falkland, and there is a car park at the top.
If you want to go a bit more off piste with your soaring (or other flying for that matter), remember to check out the restricted flying zones at https://nats-uk.ead-it.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/uas-restriction-zones/ . FL (Flight Level) means a unit of 100feet btw, so FL85 is 8500ft for example.
If you are just looking for a good reason to get into it, John Woodfield’s videos should whet your appetite for how fun it can be!

Welcome to our New Website!
Hello and welcome to our new website. We have moved from paying for a web domain to using one sponsored by the BMFA, we are one of a number of clubs that they are now hosting and we would like to say a warm thanks to Andy Symons of the BMFA for setting it up. This new website is based on WordPress which is a very popular website management system that has its origins in blogging.
We are still adding to the website as I write this but there is a great amount of material already there. We hope you enjoy looking around it!
