Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and National Air Traffic Services (NATS) Info

Even model aircraft flying, and especially drone flying, is governed by Law relating to the use of Airspace. Both the CAA and NATS have laws and rules which you must obey to be lawful. Luckily, if you join a Club you will soon find out about the few restrictions that apply, and that the best way to fly safely and without worry is at an approved Club Site.

In the UK there are several ‘umbrella’ organisations to help model flyers:

BMFA (British Model Flying Association) even host this website for us.

SAA (Scottish Aeromodellers Association)

LMA (Large Model Association)

DroneUK.org (the national association for UK recreational drone flyers)
