  • Flyer ID – You Will Need to Resit Test

As I found out recently, when you go to renew your CAA Operator ID, you will be asked to complete a new test for your Flyer ID as well, even if your five years aren’t up. This is because a number of the regulations have changed, like the UK0, UK1 labelling and needing to show a green flashing light at night, etc.

The latest regs can be found at https://www.caa.co.uk/media/csmfqbs1/the-drone-code-march-2026.pdf

  • Dalgety Bay Scouts

On Saturday 21st June 2025 we hosted the Dalgety Bay Scouts (who were camping locally) for RC plane demonstrations, helicopter demos and buddy-box flying on the Club Trainer for the lucky ones (over a dozen scouts had a go and maybe 40+ visited our field). It must have felt like ‘The Longest Day’ for Chair Neil and Treasurer Mike who spent the whole day at the field, hosting the visit. Well done!

  • Welcome to our New Website!

Hello and welcome to our new website. We have moved from paying for a web domain to using one sponsored by the BMFA, we are one of a number of clubs that they are now hosting and we would like to say a warm thanks to Andy Symons of the BMFA for setting it up. This new website is based on WordPress which is a very popular website management system that has its origins in blogging.

We are still adding to the website as I write this but there is a great amount of material already there. We hope you enjoy looking around it!
