UK Youth Rocketry Challenge

One of the events that the club supports on a regular basis is the Scottish heats of the UK Youth Rocketry Challenge which is an event organised by UKRoC . Their website states :

The UK Youth Rocketry Challenge (UKROC) is a great way to engage the next generation of engineers with practical experience of building and executing complex missions.

This is an exciting way to learn more about maths and science, with the UK winners getting the chance to compete against teams from France, USA and Japan at the International Finals.

The competition involves firing a rocket containing an egg (uncooked!). The egg needs to be delivered safely back to the ground unharmed, the winning team being the one that achieves the greatest height.
